In 2014, I took part in a humanitarian service in the Kouilou region in Republic of Congo. I worked as Team Coordinator Assistant under the aegis of Lions Club International in an initiative aimed at fighting the major causes of preventable and reversible blindness and assist those who are blind or visually impaired. 

 

The mission, SightFirst, employed the following strategies :​

• Delivering eye care services and medical devices to the locals and providing them with access to rehabilitation for impaired persons.

• Upgrading the infrastructure of existing eye care systems and providing access to rehabilitation and medical devices for impaired persons.

• Increasing public awareness on the importance of eye health.
